How to Rock Denim on Denim in 2017!

Denim jackets has been a fashion statement for more than a hundred years, but the endless affection for this piece of clothing remains a mystery. It could be due to a number of things, including their simple design, flexibility or their characteristic lightness. Reasons aside, you are always going to find something to wear that’ll suit your beloved denim whether it is the denim jacket or denim jeans, or both!, So theres never a bad time to purchase one.

Denim Jackets have always been worn, yet they trended at different stages. Cowboys and hippies wore them, now rockstars and celebrities wear them. They are occasionally known as a ‘Jean Jacket’ and were made fashionable in the 1900s with the likes of John Wayne wearing a Denim tuxedo jacket. Then again in the 60s and 70s, but they were most fashionable in the 80s with the likes of Boy George (culture club) and Madonna pairing the jacket with bright, vibrant colours and the occasional double denim. It was the undeniable trend towards the oversized ’80s-style denim jacket, often complete with the patches and pins that were also popular in this decade. Now we mainly see denim jackets on celerities such as Kanye West, Miley Cyrus and on the fashion runways on models such as Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid.

There’s something extremely cool, chic and casual about this new silhouette, and it’s just in time for the weather to show off and allow for this lighter jacket situation. Denim is no longer relegated to weekends and casual occasions, but these days denim can be appropriate pretty much anytime all year round, and here at KRK Trends we wear them ALL the time.
