Are you ready to throw it back to the '80s? I know what you're thinking 'I'd rather forget about this embarrassing hairstyle that I once worn to a school disco' BUT this style is making a comeback, with a twist! These rigid waves made an early entrance when endorsed by various celebrities like Hilary Duff in Lizzie McGuire and Britney Spears, and are seeing appearances early this year with Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande.

One of the main reasons why crimped hair was such as success and widely used so much back in the mid 80's, is due to the volumized lift it creates as well as fuller looking hair (which I'm sure you'll agree is a bonus!) Did you know both men and women followed the rule: The higher, the wider, and the curlier, the better.
There are two main ways to recreate this wavy spiral effect in your hair, both of which are quick and easy: 1 by using a crimper device which you just place small sections of hair in the device starting at the roots for 10-15 seconds, then repeating all the way down the strand ensuring you don't leave gaps (otherwise, this would look rather odd!) 2 plaiting the hair overnight, for best results plait with wet hair and let it set for a good couple of hours, depending how long you leave your hair plaited, will depend on how tight or loose the crimp will come out.
KRKtrends have invented 12 fashionable ways to wear crimped hair for every occasion during 2017, starting with spring! Make sure you send your Crimped hair Selfies in of your recreations and how you like to wear crimped hair to our facbook page 'KRK trends' or Instagram account: krk.trends
